You will be pleased to know that the Air India cabin luggage weights are really generous in that up to 8kg can be taken on board without paying extra fees. Be careful on what flight you are travelling on though as the sizes allowed do vary between Boeing & Airbus and ATR/CRJ flights. Children are also allowed the same allowance as adults.
